U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that decisions have been made regarding violations by Israel under the laws (Leahy Law) that prohibit military assistance to those who commit human rights violations. In response to a question at a press conference in Italy about reports that the State Department recommended cutting military aid to certain Israeli security forces due to potential human rights violations in the West Bank, Blinken did not directly confirm the reports but promised to reveal the findings very soon. Blinken stated, "I think you are referring to what is known as the Leahy Law and our work under it... It is an extremely important law that we apply in all areas, and when we conduct these investigations, they take time, and it must be done with great caution in gathering and analyzing the facts." He added, "This is exactly what we have done, and I think it is fair to say that you will see the results very soon; I have made decisions... you can expect to see them in the coming days."
