Palestine Requests Extraordinary Session of the Arab League Council

The Palestinian representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad al-Aklouk, has requested the convening of an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives as soon as possible. The permanent representative stated today, Monday, that "the request from Palestine comes in light of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the escalation of Israeli aggression and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem." He added that "the State of Palestine has submitted the request to discuss developments and to hear an in-depth briefing from the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese."
