Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, George Bouchikian, visited Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi today at the patriarchal edifice in Bkerke. They discussed national and public affairs. Bouchikian briefed Patriarch al-Rahi on the developments in Lebanon's production sector and the ministry's efforts in this regard. He also informed him about the opening of the industry exhibition in Lebanon last night, which is one of the most important specialized exhibitions aimed at promoting national industry under the title "Lebanon's Pulse - Its Industry." They addressed the importance of the meeting held in Bkerke to resolve the issue of displaced persons and find ways to facilitate their return to their homeland, starting with those residing without identification documents or residency permits. Bouchikian explained that "about a year ago, a decision was made to prevent factory owners from employing foreign workers and Syrians residing illegally," noting that the ministry's engineers are conducting inspections to ensure compliance by factory owners, and confirming that industrialists are responding positively.
