In a decision that sparked a debate in the famous Italian city of Milan, the municipality intends to ban the consumption of ice cream, in addition to the sale of other products like pizza, after midnight. The reason for this is the noise created by late-night revelers in the city's lively streets. The new regulations set by the city council will prohibit the sale of ready-to-eat food and drinks, including pizza, ice cream, and beverages, in 12 of the most vibrant areas of Milan. In this context, Marco Granelli, the deputy mayor responsible for security, explained the new decisions in a Facebook post: "We seek to balance social and recreational activities, peace and health for residents, and the free economic activity of traders and business people."
