Assessment of Security Measures by the Army in February

The Army Command announced that "as a result of the security measures taken by army units across various Lebanese regions during February 2024, 298 individuals of different nationalities were arrested for involvement in various crimes and offenses, includingdrug trafficking, theft, smuggling, and possession of weapons and prohibited items. Additionally, there were arrests for illegal residency in Lebanon, as well as driving vehicles and motorcycles without legal documentation. The confiscated items included 32 pieces of military-grade weaponry of various types, 3 hand grenades, quantities of light and medium ammunition, several vehicles and motorcycles, as well as a quantity of drugs and multiple communication devices and surveillance cameras. Attempts to illegally infiltrate by approximately 800 Syrians across the land border were also thwarted." The arrested individuals, along with the confiscated items, were handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
