Joint Awareness Campaign by Internal Security Forces and OMT
As part of the Global Fraud Awareness Week, which runs from November 12 to 18, 2023, OMT, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, launched an awareness campaign titled "Don't Fall Victim to Fraud: Protect Yourself." The campaign aims to highlight the main fraudulent methods and signs that individuals should pay attention to in order to avoid becoming victims of fraud. In this regard, General Director of Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, stated: "The designation of a global week for fraud awareness stems from the global need to combat fraudulent crimes as they pose a threat to communities. Thus, the collaboration between the Directorate and the private sector, like OMT, enhances our ability to combat fraud and reduce its risks." For his part, OMT’s Chairman of the Board, Tawfik Maawad, affirmed: "We take pride in collaborating with the Internal Security Forces to face the challenges of the digital world, which is not without the risks of financial fraud. This campaign aims to empower customers with the necessary awareness." Maawad also praised the efforts made by the Internal Security Forces in combating fraud and protecting citizens. The Internal Security Forces remind citizens of the importance of reporting any fraud incidents through the "Report" service on the website "isf.gov.lb."
