Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met in Riyadh with the President of the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Thomas Bach. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of the bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the International Olympic Committee, reflecting on the development and prosperity of the Olympic and sports movement in the Kingdom and around the world.
The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd, Minister of Sports, and Prince Fahd bin Jelowai, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee. Representing the International Olympic Committee were Vice President Sir Mianyang and several of its leaders.
It is noteworthy that Bach's current visit to the Kingdom is his third since he assumed the presidency of the International Olympic Committee in 2013, emphasizing the depth and strength of the relationship between the International Olympic Committee and the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee, which contributes to the development of sports globally.
Bach recently attended the closing of the Saudi Games competitions in Riyadh. Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd, discussed with the President of the International Olympic Committee the significant role the Kingdom plays in global sports, thanks to "Vision 2030" and its ambitious goals, especially in hosting major sporting events, including the 2025 Asian Games for Indoor and Martial Arts in Riyadh, the 2029 Asian Winter Games in Trojena, and the 2034 Asian Games in Riyadh.
Prince Fahd bin Jelowai, Director of the Saudi Games, announced on behalf of Minister Fahd the establishment of the third edition of the Games in the upcoming season, following the official conclusion on Sunday of the second edition of the Saudi Games 2023, which featured over 8,000 participants competing in 53 sports.
