The "Union for the Protection of Minors" in Lebanon confirmed that it is "closely monitoring the case of the TikTokers which is currently under preliminary investigation by the judicial police and specialized security agencies, with representatives of minors working under the supervision of the public prosecution and relevant judges." The union continued in a statement: "After carefully monitoring social media regarding this issue, it became clear that there are several activists disseminating inaccurate and misleading news about the course of the investigation, negatively affecting the investigation and public opinion in Lebanon." It urged "media outlets and active social media users to be precise when reporting any news or information related to the preliminary investigation. The union reminds that disclosing the confidentiality of the investigation is a punishable offense under the law." It called for "allowing the relevant agencies to complete their investigations under judicial supervision, and not to preempt the results. The union will file criminal complaints against anyone who publishes premature information regarding the investigation that could harm minors or the union."
