Renewed Israeli Bombardment in Southern Lebanon: Hezbollah Targets Military Sites

The area between Alama al-Shaab and Naqoura was subjected to Israeli artillery shelling earlier today. Additionally, three Israeli airstrikes targeted the outskirts of the town of Aytroun in the central sector of southern Lebanon. In the morning, Israeli artillery targeted Tal al-Awaidah and Al-Aziziyah on the outskirts of the town of Taybeh and the southern edges of the town of Khyam. The electricity supply to the town of Taybeh was cut off following the artillery bombardment of Tal al-Aziziyah, where the high-voltage network that feeds the area is located. Israeli Channel 12 claimed that "the Israeli army carried out preemptive strikes in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and positions." In response, the military media of Hezbollah stated in a statement that "its fighters targeted a gathering of Israeli occupation soldiers around the Shomera barracks (the occupied Lebanese town of Tabbieha) with appropriate weaponry." A rocket was also fired from southern Lebanon at an Israeli position in the Zareit settlement.
