The life of a zoo worker is in jeopardy in Michigan after a giraffe knocked him off a ladder, causing a severe head injury. According to Mail Online, the incident occurred at the "Deer Tracks Junction Adventure Park" on April 19, with the victim identified as Tyler Powell, 27 years old. Tyler was taken to the intensive care unit after police reported that a giraffe caused him to fall while he was working in the animal enclosure.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office stated that Powell was on a 6-foot ladder in the giraffe enclosure when the animal collided with the ladder, resulting in his fall. In contrast, the park disputed the police statement, claiming there was no giraffe in the enclosure at all. Powell was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and remains in the ICU due to a brain injury.
Kelly Powell, Tyler's father, mentioned that they were making improvements in the enclosure before returning the animals, and the incident happened quickly, asserting that he did not fall because of the giraffe. He stated, "He is in critical condition in the ICU, please pray for Tyler's recovery."
