After Yesterday's Match: French Newspapers Criticize Mbappé

A Spanish newspaper report highlighted the headlines of French newspapers published on Thursday morning, following Paris Saint-Germain's 2-3 loss in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday. The Catalan newspaper "Sport" conveyed the French headlines, all of which targeted PSG star Kylian Mbappé.

The newspaper "L'Équipe" titled their piece: "A Disastrous Failure," adding that Mbappé was eagerly awaiting the match but failed to deliver. It noted that Mbappé was not very dangerous and made poor decisions, despite being involved in Dembélé's goal.

On the other hand, "Le Parisien" was harsher, with the headline: "Zero Shots on Goal and 13 Ball Losses," stating: "Statistics harmed Kylian Mbappé, who did not show up against Barcelona, and his poor performance cost Paris the loss."

Former player Habib Beye, an analyst for French channel "Canal Plus," commented on Mbappé's situation, describing him as "lost and unhappy," while praising Barcelona's heroic defense, especially Koundé, who had a great match.

"Le Figaro" titled their article: "Mbappé Was Very Cautious."
