Indian Private Company Launches Its First Rocket into Space

The Indian private company Agnikul Cosmos launched its first Agnibaan rocket in a suborbital test flight. The Economic Times reported that the launch occurred after three failed attempts, taking place on May 30 from the company's launch platform at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spaceport on Sriharikota Island. The purpose of the two-minute flight to the edge of space was to test the rocket engine, which was manufactured using cryogenic technology and liquid and gaseous fuels, as well as to test the operation of components onboard the rocket that were printed using a 3D printer. It is worth noting that Agnibaan is a two-stage rocket capable of delivering a payload of up to 300 kilograms to an orbit approximately 700 kilometers high.
