"Miftah" and "Lion of Kirkuk" in Security Custody

The Iraqi Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency announced today, Monday, the arrest of a suspect impersonating individuals for the purpose of defrauding citizens and misleading them into believing they have family ties to certain government officials. The agency stated in a statement, "Specialized anti-terrorism units in Baghdad/Rusafa apprehended a suspect who was impersonating individuals to defraud citizens and mislead them into believing in familial connections with certain government officials." It added that the operation was conducted after monitoring the suspect on social media and obtaining the necessary judicial approvals, noting that his confessions regarding several fraud operations were documented and legally validated.
