The Popular Mobilization Forces announced the arrest of one of the largest drug traffickers in Anbar Province. The authority stated in a statement that "the operations command of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Anbar managed, on Sunday, to apprehend one of the largest drug dealers in the province," noting that "the security department affiliated with the operations command successfully arrested the individual identified as Aref Muayyad Jasem, who was found in possession of a large quantity of narcotic pills, not all of which were disclosed for security reasons." It added that "the mentioned individual was involved in the distribution of drug quantities within the province."
