Palestinian militants attempted to breach the Kerem Shalom military site east of Rafah today, Thursday. The Israeli army announced that "three terrorists were killed while trying to cross into Israel from the Rafah area in the Gaza Strip." It noted that "the forces conducting a search in the area encountered the militants who opened fire, and Israeli soldiers responded by firing back; then an aircraft carried out an airstrike, resulting in the death of two militants," adding: "The third was killed by tank fire shortly thereafter." The army is investigating whether a fourth terrorist may have fled the scene but remained in Gaza.
