Bomb Attack on KFC Restaurant in Baghdad

Today, Sunday, a KFC restaurant located in the Palestine Street area in eastern Baghdad was attacked with a bomb, causing material damage without any injuries. The Baghdad Operations Command stated in a press release that two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle threw a "homemade explosive device" - according to a forensic expert - in front of the restaurant's entrance in district 506 of Palestine Street on the side of Rusafa, resulting in damage to the restaurant's facade only.

According to the statement, security exits in the area were immediately closed, and a joint task force was formed from the Bab al-Sheikh police department and the Baghdad Emergency Brigade/sixth division, with intelligence support, to head to the scene of the incident. After monitoring surveillance cameras and tracking the perpetrators, their identities were uncovered and they were arrested. The motorcycle and firearms (pistols) in their possession were seized and handed over to the Al-Qanater police station to complete legal procedures.
