The commander of the Quds Force is moving in the region in a secretive manner, but the information revealed suggests that Qaani is traveling overland rather than by air. An informed Iraqi source revealed today, Saturday, the truth about the entrance of Iranian Quds Force commander Ismail Qaani through a border crossing with Iraq and his meeting with Iraqi resistance leaders in Mandali, east of the country. The source stated that "the news circulated by some social media platforms about the entry of the Iranian Quds Force chief General Qaani into Iraq via the Somar-Mandali border crossing and his meeting with Iraqi resistance leaders near Mandali a few days ago is not accurate."
He added that "Qaani or any Revolutionary Guards leader did not enter the Mandali crossing, as the crossing did not report any meetings with any Iraqi figures, whether government or resistance or any other personality." He pointed out that "the crossings in Diyala have indeed been a safe passage for Iranian officials' visits since 2014 due to the short distance to Baghdad and that these visits occur in accordance with known protocols despite their secrecy." He suggested that "the news may be an attempt to mix the cards, especially with the escalating situation in Gaza, which has become a crisis at the level of the Middle East."
