Today, Monday, in North Maluku Province, Indonesia, the Mount Ibu volcano erupted, spewing ash and dark clouds to a height of 5,000 meters for five minutes. Hendra Gunawan, head of the Volcano Research and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center in Indonesia, stated, "Volcanic tremors remain strong, so there is a possibility of another eruption in the future." Gunawan reported that more than 13,000 people live within a 5-kilometer radius from the northern side of the crater. Following the eruption on Friday, the center raised the volcano's alert level from 2 to 3, which is the second-highest level, expanding the evacuation zone. Local authorities have prepared evacuation tents, but no evacuation order has been issued yet.
