The Israeli Supreme Court discussed today, Thursday, the claim that Israel does not provide, and even prevents, humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, announcing that "the decision has been made to open the water line to Gaza." It was declared that "a decision has been made to extend working hours at the Kerem Shalom crossing and to open a water line from Nahal Oz to the Gaza Strip."
Since the outbreak of war on October 7, three water pipes were closed, two of which have already been opened. The third pipe, which is used to transfer water from Israel to northern Gaza and supplies about 7 percent of the area's needs, will now be opened. It is noteworthy that on October 9, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a complete siege on the Gaza Strip, while the Energy Minister at the time, Israel Katz (currently serving as Foreign Minister), stated that he ordered the cutting off of water to the area.
