The judging committee formed at the Lebanese Ministry of Youth and Sports has concluded the first phase of its work, selecting 12 initiatives from a total of 81 to participate in the final stage of the concluding event of "Beirut, Capital of Arab Youth 2023," which is the "Beirut Volunteer Award." The judges voted independently and chose 12 volunteer initiatives from young men and women from 8 Arab countries out of participants from 12 countries. They will be invited to Beirut from March 5 to 8 to present their initiatives to the committee in an open session.
The announcement of the three winners will take place during the closing ceremony of "Beirut, Capital of Arab Youth 2023," scheduled for 5 PM on March 7, under the patronage of Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the presence of prominent Arab figures, at the training and conference center of Middle East Airlines.
The judging committee consisted of Joseph Saadallah, head of the youth department at the ministry, and the ladies Nadia Badran, Silvana Lakkis, Faiza Qanbar, Dr. Mirna Sabra, and gentlemen Hussein Omar, secretary of the organizing committee, and Hassan Sharara, director of "Beirut, Capital of Arab Youth 2023."
The Ministry of Youth and Sports organized, over the past months, four consecutive activities under the events of "Beirut, Capital of Arab Youth 2023," supervised by the Council of Arab Ministers for Youth and Sports and the Arab League, which are: "The Arab Forum for Economic and Social Empowerment," "Discover Lebanon Program," "The Sixth Arab Forum for Youth Tourism," and "The Arab Scouting Forum." The participation of Arab youth exceeded expectations and sometimes reached up to 16 countries.
