Father Eli Khneisser reported that an instability over Lebanon passed through last Friday, causing local rainfall during the afternoon. Clouds accumulated over Akkar, transforming into a torrential rain cell that led to floods penetrating many homes in Wadi Khaled and some northern Akkar areas, resulting in damage to roads, vehicles, and agricultural lands, with precipitation reaching 64mm over four continuous hours. This amount is sufficient to cause significant damage in a short time. Citizens in northern areas raised cries for help and assistance to rescue those trapped in the water at night.
In the report, he stated: "The weather is expected to improve over the weekend, except for some rain in the north (Akkar) this afternoon, with local thunderstorms. Temperatures will begin to rise due to dusty southeastern winds between Sunday evening and Tuesday afternoon, potentially reaching speeds of 75 km/h in southern Lebanon. It is anticipated that Lebanon will be affected by a low pressure system coming from Italy and Greece starting Tuesday night (February 13), bringing with it heavy rain and snow above 1900 meters."
Temperature forecasts are as follows:
- Coast: 21°C during the day and 15°C at night
- Bekaa: 17°C during the day and 06°C at night
- Mountains at 1200 meters: 16°C during the day and 05°C at night
