"Body Erosion" Strikes Japan

The Japanese television channel "NHK" reported that the disease "Body Erosion" is rapidly spreading in Japan, causing the death of one-third of those infected due to tissue necrosis and organ failure. Scientists have not yet identified the reasons for the increase in infection rates, but they suggest that the rise in cases may be linked to the lifting of restrictive measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. Experts recommend personal hygiene practices, regular handwashing, and wearing protective masks in public places to safeguard against potential infections, as the mechanism of how this new disease infects individuals has not been studied. However, they believe that staphylococci can quickly enter the human body through wounds. According to data from the "Japanese National Institute of Infectious Diseases," the number of people infected with this disease from the beginning of 2024 until May 5 stood at 801, which is an increase of 2.76 times compared to the same period in 2023.
