Justice Minister Henry Khoury continues his tour in Europe with the accompanying delegation. He arrived in The Hague yesterday and met with the President of the International Court of Justice, Judge Nawaf Salam, to discuss judicial and national matters, as well as their aspirations for comprehensive justice. The minister and his delegation then took a tour inside the court.
From The Hague, Minister Khoury also held a meeting with the President of Eurojust, Slovak Judge Ladislav Hamran, alongside some prosecutors, with representatives from the European Commission present. The minister was briefed on how Eurojust operates and the foundations of personal data protection and incoming and outgoing information. The meeting was very positive in terms of envisioning cooperation between Lebanon and Eurojust, and an agreement was made to continue communication and coordination.
Afterward, the minister and the negotiating delegation met with the Chairman of the Dutch National Data Protection Authority, Aleid Wolfsen, and were informed about the applicable laws and methods of data protection. It is noteworthy that the minister's final stop with the accompanying delegation will be the European Commission in Belgium, where he will meet with the directors of Justice and Neighborhood Policy to discuss ways to cooperate with the Lebanese Ministry of Justice.
