The Counter-Terrorism Service in Kurdistan, Iraq, and a security source announced the deaths of two members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in two separate Turkish drone strikes in the Sulaymaniyah province in northern Iraq. The first drone attack targeted a vehicle in a mountainous area near Sulaymaniyah, resulting in the death of an individual described as "an intelligence officer in the PKK," and left two PKK fighters seriously injured. A statement from the Counter-Terrorism Service in Kurdistan indicated that another Turkish drone strike targeted a vehicle as well, killing one PKK member and injuring two others in an area just 10 kilometers from the mountainous Dukan resort. Kurdish security sources pointed out that Turkey's recent escalation of drone attacks against PKK targets represents "a worrying development," urging the central government in Baghdad to intervene to stop the attacks.
