A weather observer has forecast that Iraq will experience a heat wave and an increase in temperatures during the coming week. Wathiq Al-Salami stated, "The latest updates indicate that the country will be subjected to a hot eastern wave at the beginning of next week, with temperatures reaching levels near 50 degrees Celsius (which is half of the boiling point) in some areas of the south and the central Euphrates." He added, "The thermal low will deepen starting next Saturday as surface pressure values decrease, resulting in active southeast winds with an expected rise in relative humidity." Al-Salami also pointed out that "forecasts also suggest the possibility of thunderstorm clouds forming in the northern and eastern parts of the country, which may lead to rain showers accompanied by lightning and thunder due to thermal convection."
