Napoli, the Italian Serie A champion of 2023, has appointed Antonio Conte as their new head coach under a contract lasting until June 2027, as announced on Wednesday. The club stated in a press release: "Napoli welcomes Antonio Conte who will take over the first team after signing a contract with the club until June 30, 2027."
President Aurelio De Laurentiis commented in the statement: "I am extremely proud that the new coach of Napoli is Antonio Conte. Antonio is a high-level coach, a leader, and with him, I am confident that the necessary rebuilding will start after the period that ended with our league title victory last year, following several seasons at the top of Italian football." He added: "Today represents the beginning of an important new chapter in Naples' history."
For his part, Conte stated: "I am happy and excited to sit on the bench of Napoli. I can promise one thing: I will do everything I can to develop the team and the club. My commitment, together with my staff, will be certain."
