In a new session of the trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding payments made to porn actress Stormy Daniels to prevent her from disclosing their relationship in 2006, his attorney launched a fierce attack on the adult film star. Attorney Susan Nechels posed sharp questions to Daniels during yesterday's session, interrogating her about her sources of income.
She asked Daniels about her attempts to convince some clients that she could communicate with their deceased relatives and whether this was a source of income. Daniels acknowledged that this was "one of the ways that earns her income." Nechels also presented the jurors with social media posts made by Daniels to promote merchandise from her online store around the time Trump was charged last year.
Moreover, she posed another question saying, "A large part of your livelihood for several years has been profiting from the story of your sexual encounter with Trump and that you would help convict him, right?" Nechels accused Daniels of profiting from the account of her sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, attempting to undermine her credibility as a witness in the first criminal trial of a current or former U.S. president. However, the porn actress merely stated that she hates Trump.
Meanwhile, the former president, dressed in a blue tie, leaned forward at the defense table with a scowling face while Daniels was testifying. Daniels' unflattering account of a sexual encounter in a hotel suite on Lake Tahoe captivated the jurors last Tuesday, reminding American voters of more interesting aspects during Trump's presidency from 2017 to 2021 as he campaigns to return to the White House this year.
It is worth mentioning that Trump, who is 77 years old, faces 34 charges related to falsifying business records to cover up a $130,000 payment made by his former attorney Michael Cohen before the 2016 election to Daniels, who is 45 years old, in exchange for her silence about the alleged encounter.
