The Media and Communications Committee held a session chaired by the committee president, MP Ibrahim Al-Mousawi, during which various topics and files were discussed, including marine cables and the responses provided by the Ministry of Communications to the committee, which were examined in depth.
The committee raised other topics related to communications, such as the official dealings with "Huawei" and other companies, and demanded "not to succumb to any foreign interventions from external parties, allowing the Lebanese administration to fully benefit from the proposals presented."
The committee also addressed the issue of wages received by employees of private companies, particularly "Touch" and "Alfa," along with the additional compensation they are demanding and the significant disparities with other employees in the telecommunications sector, including "Ogero."
The committee president then brought up the topic of buildings and warehouses being renovated and rehabilitated by the ministry to evaluate their costs and importance.
The committee continued its work by studying the files presented for discussion, particularly the Ministry of Communications' responses to questions posed by the committee's member MPs.
The committee agreed to "study the responses in depth and formulate a final position regarding them to arrive at a final summary through which specific recommendations encompassing all presented files would be made."
The committee president pledged to follow up on all files and issues related to communications.
