Investigations are still ongoing regarding the murder of young Zainab Matouq at a hotel in the Ras Beirut area. Reports have revealed that Zainab was not raped according to the forensic report, despite widespread rumors. The forensic report stated that the cause of death was due to head injuries. Investigations also indicated that the 33-year-old woman was brutally beaten in a side room of the hotel on Saturday, with suspicion falling on a colleague of hers who holds Syrian nationality. It was noted that she was found alive in a storage area in critical condition but passed away after being transferred to the American University of Beirut Medical Center.
Regarding the motives, reports mentioned that there was a dangerous hidden secret that the murderer acted upon within the hotel, which the victim may have been aware of, possibly leading to the crime. Meanwhile, investigations continue as Lebanese authorities are pursuing the suspect after he fled the scene.
It is mentioned that security forces have opened an investigation into the incident, emphasizing that they are tracking the accused to apprehend him after he went into hiding. It was clarified that, following judicial instructions, the investigation has been handed over to the information branch of the Internal Security Forces. Additionally, Zainab was laid to rest in a grand and crowded funeral on Sunday.
