FIFA President Sends Message to Ronaldo After Historic Achievement in Saudi League

The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, sent a congratulatory message to the captain of Al Nassr, Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo, following his historic achievement in the Saudi League. Ronaldo finished his first full season in the Saudi League as the top scorer with 35 goals. This is the highest goal tally for a player in a single season since the inception of the Saudi Pro League in the 2008-2009 season, surpassing the previous record held by Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah (34 goals) during the 2018-2019 season with Al Nassr.

Ronaldo also became the first player in football history to win the top scorer award in four different leagues, having been the top scorer with Real Madrid in Spain, Juventus in Italy, Manchester United in England, and now Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Infantino shared a photo of himself with Ronaldo holding the Al Nassr jersey on his Instagram account, stating: "Congratulations Cristiano on breaking the record for the most goals in a single season in the Saudi League." He added: "You have now achieved this amazing distinction in four different countries during your glorious career with clubs! Truly a remarkable accomplishment!"
