Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced today, Tuesday, that the Israeli negotiation team has presented a response to Hamas's demands regarding the awaited exchange deal in the Qatari capital, Doha. The Broadcasting Authority reported, citing informed sources on the negotiations, that negotiators in Doha are first trying to reach an understanding regarding the release of Palestinian security detainees in exchange for 40 Israeli hostages.
The Israeli counter-proposal includes references to several criteria, including the return of residents to northern Gaza and the issue of releasing Palestinian security detainees. Discussions are currently ongoing regarding the number of security detainees to be released, as well as whether the parties have the right to object to the identity of these prisoners. The Broadcasting Authority noted that "the issue of the return of residents to northern Gaza will be discussed after reaching a resolution on the first point."
