Islamic Group and Progressive Socialist Party: No Issues Between the Group and the Villagers

The Islamic Group and the Progressive Socialist Party denied the occurrence of any issues between the group and the villagers. In a statement, they clarified that the newspaper "Nidaa Al-Watan" published, as well as some other newspapers and social media, a news item that is entirely unfounded under the title (Ibl Al-Saqi Resists Armed Individuals and Their Rockets), claiming that elements of the Islamic Group assaulted one of the village's sheikhs while preparing a rocket launching towards the Zionist enemy.

The Progressive Socialist Party and the Islamic Group in the regions of Hasbaya and Marjayoun affirmed that this news is completely false and called on all media outlets to exercise caution when disseminating news and to avoid falling into the trap of false news. They added: "For this reason, a joint meeting was held at the home of Sheikh Ghaleb Farraj in the village, attended by a representative of the Sheikh of Wisdom in the Hasbaya area, Sheikh Wissam Sleika, the head of the Progressive Party in Hasbaya, Samer Kakhy, the village head of Ibl Al-Saqi, and sheikhs and community leaders of the village, as well as the leadership of the Islamic Group in the area. During the meeting, they emphasized the good national relations that bind the people of the region across all their sects and denominations, reaffirming their resistance to all attempts aimed at undermining national unity, which was manifested in the response to the Zionist aggression against Lebanon."
