Israeli Army: Death of Two Officers in Central Gaza Strip

The Israeli army has confirmed the death of two officers and serious injuries to a soldier during combat in the central Gaza Strip. In a statement released under the permitted publishing section, it stated that reserve major Ido Aviv, 28, from Karmiel, a fighter in the armored support of Battalion 9232, was killed in the battle in central Gaza. Additionally, reserve major Kalkidan Mehari, 37, from Petah Tikva, a fighter in Battalion 223, Karmeli Brigade (2), was also killed in an ambush in central Gaza.

The Hebrew website "Rotter" reported the death of three Israeli soldiers and injuries to 11 others due to an explosion of an explosive device in Gaza. The Al-Qassam Brigades stated in a statement on Sunday evening that their members had ambushed an armored Israeli military unit using explosive devices and "F16" missiles that had been launched at civilians but did not explode on Al-Sikka Street in the Al-Maghraqah area in central Gaza.

The army has acknowledged the death of 608 soldiers and officers since October 7, with 263 killed since the start of the ground operation on October 27.
