Israeli media figure Edi Cohen published an old audio clip from a former media worker who left Syria and began attacking media personalities, including Lebanese journalist Hussein Mortada. The media figure accused Mortada of raping Syrians during the recent war in Syria and confirmed that he engaged in unethical actions during that time.
Cohen stated, "Those behind this campaign are Syrians who were raped by Hussein." The campaign, described as unjust, attempted to undermine Mortada, who asserted that followers know this information is false and that it comes from Zionist-funded campaigns aimed at disrupting the role of the resistance media at this stage. Mortada added that he will continue his mission to support campaigns against normalization and will keep working in media to convey the truth about events. He concluded by stating that after the failure of the supporters of the occupation to distort the truth, they had no choice but to resort to psychological warfare, which has become evident to everyone.
