Evans Exits "Central European Rally" Due to Crash

Elfyn Evans has withdrawn from the inaugural "Central European Rally" after being involved in an accident on Saturday, bringing his teammate in the "Toyota" team, Finnish driver Kalle Rovanperä, one step closer to winning the championship for the second consecutive time. Rovanperä stated, "I knew Elfyn was out of the race, so why take any risks now?" He added, "Now the goal is a little different, and we will aim to finish the race while earning a good number of points." Evans' car collided with the door of a building at a turn in stage 11, resulting in significant damage that forced him to withdraw from the race. After stage 11, Rovanperä (23 years old) was in second place, 11.1 seconds behind leader Thierry Neuville from "Hyundai," heading into the last three stages of the second day of the rally.
