Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed today, Wednesday, that "Turkey stands by Lebanon amid the escalating tensions with Israel, urging the countries of the region to support Beirut as well." Erdogan stated before the parliament that "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has planned to expand the Gaza war into the region, which will lead to a 'disaster'," adding that the Western support for Israel is "regrettable."
