Shoigu: Ukraine Has Lost Over 111,000 Soldiers Since the Beginning of the Year

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu revealed today, Friday, that Ukrainian forces are losing about a thousand soldiers daily due to demands from the United States and its allies to stop the Russian army's offensive at any cost. Shoigu stated, "The United States and its allies are demanding that Ukraine prevent the collapse of its defenses and contain the Russian forces' attack at all costs, resulting in the enemy's daily losses in April rising to a thousand soldiers."

He pointed out that Ukrainian forces have lost more than 111,000 soldiers in 2024, along with 21,000 pieces of military equipment and arms. Shoigu added that since the beginning of the special operation, the Black Sea Fleet has destroyed more than 80 enemy drones and over 20 enemy unmanned boats, according to its coastal radio equipment.

The minister mentioned that since the start of the year, the Russian army has expanded its control over 547 square kilometers of territory in the newly annexed regions, and in the past two weeks, several towns have been liberated, including Novobakhmutivka, Semyonivka, and Berdychi in the Donetsk People's Republic. He stated, "Groups of Russian forces continue to penetrate the enemy's strongholds along the entire contact line. Ukrainian units are trying to cling to certain lines, but under the pressure of our attack, they are forced to abandon their positions and retreat."
