Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of a new service for those entering its territory on a "Hajj Visa" this year, aimed at "enhancing the quality of services offered to them and keeping pace with digital advancements" during their stay in the Kingdom. The Ministry of Interior has introduced a digital identity service for visitors entering the Kingdom with a Hajj Visa this year, "as part of the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ government to enable digital transformation and utilize technology to serve the people, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030."
The ministry explained that the "digital identity for pilgrims," developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), allows visitors to prove their identities electronically through the platforms “Absher” and “Tawakkalna,” facilitating its use during their journey while enhancing the quality of services provided and enriching their experience.
The ministry stated: "The launch of the digital identity for guests of Allah aims to achieve the highest quality standards in serving them and to keep pace with advancements in digital transformation in the services provided to them during their stay in the Kingdom."
