Death of Iranian Citizen Following News of President Raisi's Helicopter Crash

Iranian media reported that a resident of Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, died from a heart attack after hearing the news of President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter crash and the death of several of his companions. The citizen's daughter, Hassan Ghorbani, told Mehr News Agency that when the news of the crash spread through the media, her father became anxious because he was very fond of Mr. Al-Hashem, the Friday prayer leader in Tabriz. She added that he wanted to take a short nap and asked if there were any updates regarding the helicopter crash, but he suffered a heart attack while sleeping and passed away. She explained that Mr. Al-Hashem is incredibly popular in Tabriz due to his humility and connection with the people, and his body was buried on Thursday evening in the Martyrs' Cemetery in the city, following a grand funeral attended by various groups from the community. The helicopter incident led to the deaths of the Iranian president, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Friday prayer leader Ayatollah Al-Hashem, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, the head of the president's protection unit, and a member of the Revolutionary Guard.
