Iraq: Violent Clashes with Heavy Weapons South of Al-Amarah

A security source in Maysan reported the outbreak of a violent tribal dispute south of the city of Al-Amarah, the center of the governorate. The source stated that "a fierce tribal dispute erupted between members of the (Al-Fartous) tribe in the Al-Az area of the Al-Adl district south of Maysan, using various heavy weapons." The source also noted that "the initial toll from the conflict includes one fatality and two others severely injured, while the dispute between the two parties continues," emphasizing that "security forces are facing difficulties in entering the incident area."
