Ambush Captures Drug Trafficker and His Wife

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced the following in a statement: "In the framework of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to pursue those involved in drug trafficking and promotion and to arrest them, information was received by the special group in the Judicial Police Unit regarding an individual involved in drug promotion and motorcycle theft. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the group was able to identify the individual, named Y. A. (born in 2004, Lebanese).

On 11-5-2024, in the area of Khaldeh, a force from the special group set an effective ambush that led to his arrest in the act while he was promoting drugs along with his wife, S. S. (born in 2004, Lebanese). Upon searching them and the vehicle, a quantity of drugs prepared for promotion was seized, including:

- 24 envelopes of cocaine

- 4 envelopes containing marijuana

- 5 envelopes containing hashish.

Through investigations, it was revealed that Y. A. was involved in crimes of extortion, and upon questioning, he confessed to the charges against him. They have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action based on a judicial notice."
