Return of CRJ900 Aircraft to the Iraqi Air Fleet

The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced today, Sunday, the return of a CRJ900 aircraft to service within the air fleet. A statement from the ministry noted that "in alignment with the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razak Mohibbes Al-Saadawi, to adhere to the timelines for returning idle aircraft to service, the management of Iraqi Airways has announced the return of a CRJ900 aircraft to the company's air fleet, marking it as the ninth aircraft to be restored to service."

It was added that "the aircraft registered as YI-AQB successfully completed its first test flight on Saturday after all maintenance work was completed according to the bulletin issued by the manufacturing company. Additionally, for the first time, the technical department succeeded in accomplishing the task of replacing the aircraft's landing gear at the company's maintenance center, whereas this operation was previously carried out outside Iraq at high costs."

He continued, stating that "work is ongoing to return other suspended aircraft to service through the efforts exerted by the company, whether it involves maintenance performed domestically by its engineering and technical teams or in collaboration with major global companies to resolve this matter."
