UAE Hosts International Table Tennis Championship

The UAE Table Tennis Federation announced the hosting of the International Youth Championship in October in Dubai, in collaboration with the International Federation. They also announced the national team's participation in the West Asian Championship, which will take place in Jordan in August. The team will participate with 10 players in the 13, 15, and 18-year-old categories and is preparing for this with a proposed training camp between Uzbekistan and China. National team players will return to start their training program next month at the Al Ahli and Al Nasr clubs in preparation for the external training camp after a period of inactivity. The Assistant Secretary-General of the UAE Table Tennis Federation, Ahmed Al-Bahr, confirmed the International Federation's approval of the International Youth Championship and its inclusion in the scheduled tournament calendar, especially following the technical and organizational success of the UAE International Table Tennis Championship for youth and juniors in October of last year in Al Ain. He highlighted the decision by the Federation's Board of Directors to establish a community championship committee aimed at supporting efforts to broaden the base of players and promote the sport widely, and to organize events specifically for community clubs, residents, and schools.
