Hamas has accused the Palestinian Authority of sending security officers to northern Gaza under the pretext of securing aid trucks. A Palestinian Authority official denied this accusation made by the Ministry of Interior in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip. A Hamas leader informed "Al-Aqsa TV," affiliated with the movement, that Majed Faraj, the head of Palestinian intelligence, is overseeing the mission of these officers.
He mentioned that six members of the force, which accompanied the aid trucks that entered through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, had been arrested, and police forces are pursuing the other members to apprehend them. The Ministry of Interior in Gaza stated in a statement: "Several officers and soldiers affiliated with the General Intelligence Service in Ramallah infiltrated northern Gaza, on a mission ordered directly by Majed Faraj, with the aim of causing confusion and chaos within the home front, secured by the Israeli Shin Bet and the enemy's army, following an agreement reached between the two parties at a meeting held in one of the Arab capitals last week."
It added: "Accordingly, the security agencies in Gaza dealt with these elements, arresting ten of them, and thwarting the plan for which they came. Those who dare to intervene in a domain that serves only the occupation will be met with an iron fist," according to Hamas's statement.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian Authority official in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank stated: "The statement from the so-called Hamas Ministry of Interior regarding the entrance of aid into the Gaza Strip yesterday is baseless, and we will continue to provide everything necessary to assist our people." The official added, referring to the war between Israel and Hamas, that the Palestinian Authority will not be swayed by "frenzied media campaigns that cover the suffering of our people in Gaza and what they are facing in terms of killing, displacement, and starvation."
The statement published on "Al-Aqsa Channel" via the Telegram app mentioned that security personnel and fighters from armed factions received instructions to treat any forces entering the Gaza Strip without coordination with them as "occupying forces."
