The United Arab Emirates condemned the remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the state's invitation to participate in the civilian administration of the Gaza Strip, which is under Israeli occupation. In a statement on his official account on the platform X, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: "The United Arab Emirates strongly condemns the statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the invitation for the state to participate in the civilian administration of the Gaza Strip, which is under Israeli occupation."
The statement added: "The UAE emphasizes that the Israeli Prime Minister does not hold any legitimate authority that allows him to take this step, and the state rejects being dragged into any scheme aimed at providing cover for the Israeli presence in the Gaza Strip."
The UAE reaffirmed that "when a Palestinian government is formed that meets the hopes and aspirations of the Palestinian people and possesses integrity, competence, and independence, the UAE will be fully prepared to provide all forms of support to that government."
