The French newspaper "Valeurs actuelles" reported that a severed finger was sent by mail to the Élysée Palace, the official residence of President Emmanuel Macron. According to a security source, the package was received at the palace's correspondence department between July 9 and 10, just days before France's national holiday or Bastille Day on July 14. The source noted that the package did not contain any written message and that the finger was placed in the refrigerator at the presidential residence until the police collected it overnight. The source confirmed that the individual associated with the severed finger has been identified, which led to the appropriate emergency measures being taken to ensure the person receives care from the relevant authorities and undergoes the necessary medical follow-up. The Élysée Palace declined to comment on the incident.
