Renewed Efforts to Resume Ceasefire Negotiations

Axios reported that U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, CIA Director William Burns, and U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Brett McGurk recently communicated with mediators in Egypt and Qatar, as well as Israeli officials, to resume negotiations between Israel and Hamas. The report noted that Sullivan will meet with diplomats from 17 countries that have captives held in Gaza to rally international pressure for a deal that would allow for their release.
