Promotion of Parma and Como to Italian Serie A

Last night, Parma and Como were promoted to Italian Serie A after finishing in first and second place in the Serie B league. A third team will join them after the playoffs. Parma, the Serie B leaders, drew 1-1 with Reggiana, ending the season with 76 points, while Como, managed by former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, secured second place with 73 points after drawing with Cosenza. The CEO of Como is English and Chelsea legend Dennis Wise, while Thierry Henry is an investor and board member. Como returns to Serie A after a 21-year absence. Venezia, who finished third, will join Cremonese, Catanzaro, Palermo, Sampdoria, and Brescia in the playoffs, which begin on May 17 and conclude on June 2. The bottom-placed Lecce will be relegated to Serie C along with Feralpisalò and Ascoli, while Bari and Ternana will meet in the playoffs on May 16 and 23.
