U.S. authorities have temporarily closed beaches in Walton County in the Florida Panhandle due to two reported shark attacks on Friday. The county sheriff's office noted that "the first attack occurred in the afternoon when a woman was injured in a shark incident near Watersound. She was taken to the hospital for treatment." Later that day, firefighters responded to an incident near Inlet Beach "after multiple reports of a teenager being injured by a shark." Officials in Hawaii reported that "a woman sustained serious injuries in a confirmed shark attack in waters off the island of Oahu."
