Israeli broadcasting authority revealed on Saturday evening that the family of the Israeli officer in the special forces unit known as "Yamam," who was killed during the operation to rescue four captives from Gaza, refused the attendance of politicians at his funeral. The Israeli broadcasting authority noted that among the politicians the family of the deceased officer refused was National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Ben Gvir had planned to attend the funeral of Arnon Zamora, 36, who was killed on Saturday during the operation to free the prisoners from the Nusseirat area in central Gaza. Earlier on Saturday, Ben Gvir stated, "We will not return the Israeli captives held by Hamas except through significant and continuous military pressure." He called for increased and sustained military pressure against Hamas in Gaza.
